Purple Kindergarten
I teach:
in the Purple Kindergarten. I have been at Akiba-Schechter since:
1996 Education/degrees:
M.A. in Elementary Education, National Louis University I like to teach because:
Kindergarten is the bridge between the pre-school and the grade school. It is a year filled with so much growth: socially, emotionally and academically. It is also a time when parents still drop off their child in the classroom, and a parent/teacher relationship can be nurtured as well. My favorite part of teaching is:
Being with the children, working with them as a group and individually. Together we learn something new each day and from each other. I became a teacher because:
I wanted to work with children, help foster their love for learning and bring laughter, warmth and joy into a classroom. I'm known by my students for:
Lots of singing, dancing and playing board games. When I'm not teaching, I
Am spending time with my family. We love to be outdoors. We also love to travel to see family and take adventures to new places. I have a collection of instruments from around the world that my students enjoy.
