Curriculum

Akiba-Schechter Jewish Day School offers an outstanding education in secular and Judaic studies that inspires, challenges and nurtures each child. Boys and girls study all aspects of our curriculum together in multi-age classes. Our small class sizes encourage a strong relationship between students and teachers; and personalized instruction enables each student to progress at his or her own pace.

High standardized test scores, awards in statewide math and science fairs, and numerous other scholastic achievements are strong measures of our students’ academic success.

Graduates of Akiba-Schechter go to excellent, competitive high schools throughout the city, including the Walter Payton College Prep, Jones College Prep, the International Baccalaureate Program at Lincoln Park High School, University of Chicago Laboratory School, Ida Crown Jewish Academy and the Chicagoland Jewish High School. Our alumni attend such colleges as Columbia University, Northwestern University, Princeton University, Syracuse University, and Yeshiva University.
